FCCLA will host a Coat Drive as well as a Prescription Pill Container Collection

Coat Drive Information:  Please bring your clean coats to the football field for the game on Fri, Oct 16th.  We will first make sure that our community has enough coats before sending them on to other communities

Prescription Pill Container:  Landfills do not need medicine containers.  While first world nations throw away perfectly good prescription containers, medical pharmacies and hospitals in Malawi often find themselves with nothing except torn pieces of paper for wrapping medicine for their patients.  This is especially prevalent in rural hospitals and village areas where the poorest people live.

Bring your empty pill containers to the football field on Friday, October 16.  There will be big boxes available for the coats and prescription bottles at the gates.

September 4, 2015

We are finishing up the second week of classes with our students. Activities are underway in the junior high and high school. The junior high and high school students are adjusting to their new Chromebooks. It will take a little while to work out some of the kinks.

We want to congratulate Kayne Spooner for receiving a $3775 grant from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation for Sensor and Graphing Analysis Software for the Physics and Chemistry room. Also, congratulations are in order for Don Mordecai for being named Northwest Kansas Outstanding Junior High Music Teacher for 2015. Congratulations to both staff members!

Just a reminder that there will not be classes on Monday, September 7, as we celebrate Labor Day. We will resume classes on Tuesday, September 8.

We want to welcome everyone back to another school year! It should be a very exciting year. Classes are started and will be in full swing this week. Activities will soon be underway in the high school and junior high.

We are very excited about the building project at Eisenhower Elementary, the Junior High, and the High School. Planning is currently underway as our construction manager, Hutton Construction, begins to gather information and work with our architects. We are hoping to let bids this fall for major portions of the project. If we are lucky, we will then see some construction begin after the first of the year.

Although there will some inconveniences and delays, we will have facilities that are much improved over what we have had in the past. When the bond was approved we looked at security and safety as two major factors. This project will address those factors. We will also be doing some major remodeling at the Junior High and at Eisenhower. This work will greatly improve our facilities. We will be gaining much-needed classroom space and better organized and updated administrative areas.

Our faculty and staff are looking forward to a great year. We hope you are as well. If you have any questions please feel free to call us or stop by and visit us here at the district office. Have a great year!
